Dino Dilio is a Toronto-based freelance makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur with 30 years of experience in the worlds of entertainment, business and education. He has built a reputation across Canada’s beauty industry through his 25 years of regular appearances on City TV’s lifestyle program, Cityline with Tracy Moore.
Dino has held positions in the makeup departments of CBC and City TV, and he has served as a personal makeup artist for on-location photo and video shoots featuring broadcasters, journalists, politicians, entertainers and celebrities. Clients have included the Barenaked Ladies, Justin Bieber, Diahann Carroll, Kim Cattrall, Victoria Clarke, Marilyn Denis, Paul Gross, India Hicks, Chantal Kreviazuk, Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Rachel McAdams.
In advertising, TV and film production, Dino has worked for Aimia, Aeroplan, Coca-Cola, DreamWorks Productions, Mirvish Productions, The Movie Network, Paramount Pictures and Polaroid. As well, Dino has worked with international fashion designers such as Calvin Klein, House of Devon (Beyoncé), Northbound Leather and Oscar de la Renta. Dino’s print credits include Canadian Living, Flare, Glamour, The Globe and Mail, Glow, Harry, Hello, The National Post, The Toronto Star and Vanity Fair. He has also served in the role of National Makeup Artist and Brand Ambassador for the Hudson’s Bay Company, Murale, Paula’s Choice, Revlon Canada and Shoppers Drug Mart. In 2001, Dino opened his own Toronto private makeup studio, catering to brides, executives and everyday people. It’s a place where individuals of all backgrounds, professions and lifestylescan explore and learn in a private one-on-one environment. In 2006, Dino rolled out DDB Makeup, a product line based on his in-depth understanding of personal beauty needs.
Dino is a teacher at heart, working at Complections/CMU College of Makeup Design and Art and other Toronto educational institutions. He delights in sharing his love and knowledge of makeup expertise, focusing on the importance of mindfulness, mutual respect, integrity,diplomacy, professionalism and community. Whether in the classroom, in his studio, on camera or online, Dino believes that beauty isn’t just about products, it’s the art of self-expression and empowerment.
